Shade communication and clinical photography
Prime Lab Dental Studios, West Leederville WA
A practical workshop on getting anterior shade right the first time.

Most anterior remakes trace back to the shade record, not the ceramics. A photograph taken in the wrong light with the wrong tab tells the technician very little.
This workshop covers what a technician actually needs, how to take it in a normal surgery without a studio setup, and how to describe what you want in a way that survives the handover.
On the night
- What the technician sees when your record arrives
- Camera settings that work in a surgery
- Tab placement, lighting and cross-polarisation
- Writing a prescription a technician can act on
