Digital impressions, and getting a scan the lab can use

A study club session on scan quality, margins and open workflow.
The session covered margin capture, soft tissue management and the handful of scan errors that account for most returned cases.
The second half was open case discussion, working through scans attendees brought with them.
What was covered
- Margins need to be visible and dry, not inferred by the software
- Retraction and haemostasis do more for scan quality than scanner choice
- Open workflow means the file is yours, whichever lab you send it to
- A short scan retake in the chair is cheaper than a remake
